Set your DVRs! Bieber fever is coming back to primetime television. That’s right, Justin Bieber will be returning as a guest star on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. The pop star made his debut on the show last fall when he played a troubled teen whose brother was killed. In the process, Bieber showed us he’s got some slick acting chops.
.
According to CBS, Bieber is now filming a new episode that will air on Thursday February 17 at 9 p.m. EST. The episode is titled “Targets of Obsession.”
.
Bieber will reprise his role as teenager Jason McCann. In his previous appearance, Bieber’s character dealt with an older brother who built bombs and was killed by the CSI team. Now, apparently, Bieber’s character is tipped off that he’s in “imminent danger.” CSI producer Carol Mendelsohn told MTV News that the episode would deal with some unanswered questions about McCann.
.
“At the end of the episode, we’re left with the question: Is Jason a good kid stuck in a bad situation or is Jason a bad kid hiding behind his cuteness?” Mendelsohn said. “You can see why Justin was such a perfect choice to play this role… It’s an explosive story.”
.
This should be a consolation to fans who were disappointed to recently learn that Glee will not be making a Bieber-centric episode. Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy told Entertainment Weekly, “Those [tributes] are reserved for artists with big catalogs. Bieber comes up in episode 13 as a small plot point. Sam [Chord Overstreet] sings a JB song to win Quinn’s [Dianna Agron] approval.”
.
Oh well—maybe after Bieber releases a few more records he’ll get the full Glee treatment. Meanwhile, mark your calendars for Feb. 17 and start planning your CSI viewing party.
